Registration to a birding trip is done by sending an email to info@birdingindonesia.com. Once we confirmed your trip you pay a deposit equivalent to 20% of the fare.
The remaining balance must be paid no later than 90 days before the start of the trip.

In the event of cancellation the following applies:
Cancellation more than 60 days before departure 50% refund of the fare.
Cancellations less than 60 days before departure refunded 0% of the fare.

The tour price includes:
All tours begin and end at Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport or Sukarno Hatta Airport in Jakarta.

All domestic flights as per itinerary is included. It also includes all airport taxes and transfers to and from airports according to the itinerary. This also applies if the itinerary changes.
Nights hotel in shared double room and breakfast included in the price. The rooms have bathroom with hot water. (Note that we are traveling in a developing country and that electricity and water do not always work – even if the hotels offer it.)
Out in the field, we stay at the homes of local families. There we can get to stay more than two in the same room. Toilet and washing facilities are basic Indonesian standard, but are available.
When we stay with local families all meals are included. The food is according to the local tradition and can consist of rice and vegetables or noodles and vegetables. Water is also included. It is often boiled water because it is kindest to the environment and as safe as bottled water.
All local transportation is included, usually by local bus, but even with 4×4 jeep or minivan when it suits better.
All local guide costs are included.
Travel authorization (surat jalan) in Papua is included.

The tour price does not include:
Travel Insurance: get a travel insurance that covers medical treatment on site and also pay for the return flight due to disease.
Vaccinations: contact your vaccination clinic (or infection clinic) about which vaccinations are needed to Indonesia. We will be traveling in an area where there is malaria so malaria prophylaxis is required on the trip.
Visas to Indonesia: contact your local Indonesian Embassy for further information about Visas.
Travelling to and from Bali or Jakarta, Indonesia.
Tips to guides and local families.
Lunch and dinner the nights we stay in hotels.
Beverages – Water will be provided on days we are in the field.
Laundry costs.

For everyone’s comfort, we ask smokers not to smoke in the hotel room shared with non-smokers. Smoking is not allowed in meals or during activities we have together as a group – where non-smokers can be affected by the smoke.

All the trips we offer require participants are healthy and have normal fitness. Some parts of the trips require a tough and steep hike to get to the birds.
Both the Baliem Valley and the Arfak Mountatins are located at high altitude (2,000 -3,200 meters above sea level) and requires that the participants don’t have any heart problems. If you are unsure, consult your doctor.
We always carry a first aid kit and some medications.
